SNOW
Sneak Peak!

Here is an example of the ice that separates two major portions of Stalingrad in this map.
The ice is full interactive and if you think you are gonna chill in the water think again. The water slowly hurts you as you stand in it. Well... it is cold.

This map will be on my highest priority. I have confined it to a great ienvironment. You can shut the snow off for ping. Again I made it confined for fps reasons. I love the snowdrifts and destructable planks connecting buildings 4 stories high.
Anyway I'll post again soon.

That looks good, I love the map now already :D

Maybe make the ice thinner though, if it's not too much work.

The release of this map is totally dependant upon PINGand FPS. I am REALLY fighting putting any extras in because I just love to see a great FPS when I test it. I kept it confined and built it ENTIRELY of caulk first. The map is build but I am texturing it with ONLY a few textures. The fps is really bogged on maps that have too many textures. After learning this I feel this map is gonna be SOOOooo much fun.
JV I will make the ice thinner.

How much should the freezing water hurt?
Every second 20 life

Every second 5 life

Delay 5 sec

No delay?

 jaw drops to the floor

This could be the greatest map I've ever seen. :)

It's even better to see you actually care about FPS. :D

Good luck man.

1 second = 5 hp off btw

Thanks. I needed those comments to figure out what to do about the freezing water under the ice that breaks.
I'm cranking the map hours and play testing hours up. Lots of hard work ahead but I map constantly, so you figure.

Pic Update

It nears the final stages of development for this map and as the release draws near I will be focusing on FPS. I made it kinda plain in some places. I tried to use only a certian group of textures to go easy on the cpu during gameplay. The buildings are huge but not full of junk.
Hope you like the new shots. Playtesting begins soon!

The layout of planks here can all be destroyed, each one by one, with one snipe.
Image
The Boards on the windows and the planks on the bridge are all destructable. :)
