Hey fellas.

Im doing a map with a factory and a road. I want it to be sunny outside and I know how to do the sky, sun and beams.
How can I make:
The outside look natural.
And the interior of the factory like V2.

And also, wot sizes should crates be, they are made of brushes rite?

To get a sunny color go for a soft yellow tint. Use values like '60 53 45' for your suncolor in the worldspawn. Also try not to use too much ambientlight or the map will lose it's contrast, meaning the shadows will look blend and the lights won't stand out anymore from the rest. But you'll have to try different kind of light values and see what you like best.

You can make crates any size you want of course, there's no standard. However most crate textures measure 128x128. I like to make crates 64 units so the player can climb them. I just stack them up if I want to provide some hiding space. Crates should only be made an entity if you want them to be breakable (use func_crate). Normal crates should just be brushes and be made detail.

For the inside of the building you'll have to use light entities. Combined with a low ambientlight value this should produce enough light to light the place and leave some darker spots. You can change the intensity of the lights by selecting one and pressing N. Give it a 'key/value' of 'light/amount_of_light_you_want'. To change colors select a light and press K.
