I can't get the cheats to come on so I can check my map with "r_showtris 2". Here is the target line of my desktop shortcut:
"C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\MOHAA\MOHAA.exe" +set cl_playintro 0 +set ui_skip_eamovie 1 +set ui_skip_titlescreen 1 +set ui_skip_legalscreen 1 +set developer 1 +set thereisnomonkey 1 +set cheats 1 +set ui_console 1
But, the game keeps saying r_showtris is cheat protected. I tried typing "set cheats 1" in the console and it says the cheats will be turned on after restart. So, I type in restart and try it again, but it is still cheat protected.
Then I made a new cfg file named tltrude.cfg and added the line seta cheats "1" to it. In the console, I typed "/tltrude.cfg" and then tried the r-showtris 2 again.......still cheat protected.
I have the developers console set to key F8, but the tris button does not work with the cheats off.
Any help would be great because this is driving me nuts!!!
r_showtris 2 .....HELP!

ok
Well that kind of works, but how do I run an objective map with it?
devmap obj/obj_dam2
Says I can't run an objective game with a non-objective game type. Also I want to be able to run around with tris turned on, if I can. I hate that developers console because it has to be turned off to move around. It would also be nice if I could get it to do the whole thing automatically from a desktop shortcut.

This is how I do it: I use this autoexec.pk3 in my Main (which will skip all intro movies and stuff; but can also be done with the commandline;) and use the following shortcut:
"C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\MOHAA\MOHAA.exe" +set developer 1 +set thereisnomonkey 1 +set cheats 1 +set ui_console 1 +set g_gametype 4 +devmap obj/obj_mapname
It's the same as jv suggested only this way it's just double click and you're set to go.

thanks
Thanks, using that targetline for a new desktop shortcut works great!
So, which triss is the one that effects the FPS, 1 or 2? My guess is 2 because that's the one that can see through the walls, and the one that changes when I walk into a leafgroup.
Something is weird though, because things not in a targeted leafgroup vanish too. Terrain and far away things show up when I stand in one leaf and vanish in the next one closer to it. It's a real pain, because the FPS changes by 20 points between the two leafgroups. I wish I could figure this stuff out, because I still have to put the bots back in my map and that will kill the FPS, if it is not as low as possible.
What are bboxes?
Code: Select all
"C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\MOHAA\MOHAA.exe" +set cl_playintro 0 +set ui_skip_eamovie 1 +set ui_skip_titlescreen 1 +set ui_skip_legalscreen 1 +set developer 1 +set thereisnomonkey 1 +set cheats 1 +set g_gametype 4 +devmap obj/obj_dam2
