want to make walkable func_windows, which break when shot.

prob is, there's no walking sound.
i have my own glas texture which I could give whatever surface parameter i want, but as soon as it is a func_window, the sound is gone.

could/must i make them script_objects and how can i make walking on them sound like e.g. metal and get the glas splinters when i shoot it?

r u sure u put surfaceparm glass in?

if so make sure it's also on for the broken window aswell, just incase it's picking up on that surfaceparm rather than the unbroken glass

Have you tried making a glass clip textured brush part of the func_window? I don't know if glass clip even has step sound, but it is worth a try. If it doesn't, try adding one of the other clip testures--like stone. And, if all else fails, you can always make a non-func window with a trigger_multiple and an exploder.

never happened 2 me b4, but...

if the game is reading the broken glass 1st as the texture being stepped on then it won't play any sound if it doesn't have a surfaceparm set, but bcus it's a random texture as both windows are the same height of which 1 is stepped on, will depend if u get the sound or not

There's a map called 'Opcenter' or 'The Op center' (i can't remember  ), but that has glass you can walk on and shoot up. I don't remember if you can hear sound when you step on them though (not a very good memory!). Maybe it's worth downloading to see if its what you were trying to do?
