Ok - if you want 16 players in your map - you have 8 allied spawn points and 8 axis spawn points. You do not need to place an info_player_start over any of them.

You must have at least one info_player_start in your map somewhere though.
Also, if you want a map that works in FFA, you need to add 32 info_player_deathmatch entities.

the only need for a info_player_start in a multiplayer map is for the spectator start, and if you dont have at least one it will not load!!! it will compile fine but will not load in mohaa. just put you info_player_start in a spot where you think is the best part of your map and point the entity in the direction you want ppl to first see when they load your map.
apart from that put info_axis_spawns and info_allied_spawns where you want your allies and axis to start!
very easy

I'm doing this and still everybody spawn where the info_player_start is!!!! I have 1 info_player_allied and 1 info_player_axis in different parts of the map but...
btw: Trinculo, I don't have info_allied_spawn and info_axis_spawn. What I have is info_player_allied and info_player_axis...

Ok, you need only 1 info_player_start (gold one). That one is used in singleplay and it is also a temp spot while some games load. For objctive and team match games you need info_player_allied (blue ones) and info_player_axis (pink ones). For a free for all game, you need info_player_deathmatch (green ones).
Alway place these entities a few units above the ground (I use 4 units), or the players might get stuck when they spawns there.
So, I hope that helps you understand.

Wow, that explains everything! Thanks Trude. I suggest a sticky for that.
