MG42 with a Spotter : problem

Post by BadSpeed »

I've tried the tutorial : MG42 with a Spotter and I had a problem and I don't know why
When I've done every thing it says in the part 1 I don't have any enemy who come in the map and shoot me with the MG42 and I don't know why :/
I've done every thing sayed. I've redone the tutorial twice and still :/

( the script simse to be working cause when I arrived I'va got the M1 )

No answers for you, but just wanted to let you know that I have asked this very question DOZENS of times on forums and no one seems to be able to answer it. I'm yet to see it work. No matter how you set it up, I've never got it. Would be nice to see it.

ive got mg42s and spotters spawning fine, except that the spotter is facing backwards, which doesnt look too realistic when he taps the gunner on the shoulder and points inside the bunker. Ive done everything right too. Thats the only problem ive ever had though

spawn variable

Post by jv_map »

I took a look at the tutorial and the global/mg42_active.scr file, and found out that the tutorial mentions a '$spawn' variable, which is obviously wrong. The '$' tells MOHAA that the value of the variable is a string (a set of characters), whereas the global script uses the 'spawn' variable as an integer (non-floating point value). Therefore, you'll have to change the $spawn variable to a #spawn variable. I have not yet tried the tutorial myself and because of that I can't tell you if it'll work with the #spawn tag, but I think it is at least something to try out.
