How do I create trenches?

I'm a beginner with MOHRadiant and I don't know how to create trenches. I don't know how without the terrain getting in the way. If someone can help me please do.

make a big box! make it thick!
then make a smaller box that you want your trench to be... put it iside the box and press csg subtract, then delete the box and you got you a trench!

You can delete some of the little triangle using the facet editor (Shift F with a 512 block highlighted). It tells all about it in the terrain manual you'll find in the docs folder.

OMG, I didn't know you could edit terrain facets individually... I should've read those docs.
