The smallest unit I can shrink to in mohradiant looks like it would be four inches thick in real life. I'm sure I can get smaller... maybe changing settings for my grid to be more detailed. Is this true, or something else, and how?
Thanks for helping someone else who's just beginning.

The smallest wide/length possible is 1 unit. You can adjust your grid with numbers 1 (1 unit grid) - 9 (256 units grid) on your keyboard. There ought to be the grid setting displayed in the lower right of your MOHR window

In Radiant on your keyboard press 1. And then try and make it smaller. It wont go much smaller then that.

you really don't want to create things only 1 unit thick - it can create problems...the min width / height / lenght of an object should be 2 units to avoid problems

Would I get around this by changing the scale of things or something? Now, a spawn point is 4 x 4 units at the base. If I make a door two units thick and the wall it's placed in four, it seems like I have a foot-thick door and a two-foot thick wall almost. I'm just uncertain, I guess. It just looks a bit off compared to the scaling I see in tutorials and such.

change the grid setting! a spawn point isn't 4 units but 32 units wide, this is 4x4 blocks in a grid of 8 which is default. press e.g. 2 and your grids setting is 2 units per grid.
