NEW MAP IDEA- IF YOU LIKE SPR, READ THIS

I have always wished someone would make a Saving PRivate Ryan map which is the final battle in Rommel ( pronounced Rummel ).

Something like

Axis spawn one side, Allies other, bridge in middle, but then, could have scripted Axis tank's come thorugh up to bridge and give covering fire to advancing Axis troops, the bomb could be under bridge on a sorta walk way thing ( used ion a different map).

Thin street's with loads of windows either sides so you got to watch yourself, 30 cal's or MG42 in rubble and windows, mines scattered throughout map, church tower for sniping, maybe with 30cal or MG42 in it, loads of rubble, scripted planes to bomb the road's every know and again.

I think this map would be awesome, you can picture it...German tank's rolling into the town with axis troop's behind it, tank laying down covering fire while moving, ratle of machine gun fire from the church tower and the street emplacements, allied troop's running past in the distance, allied planes flying over and bombing your path, watching friend's run over unexpected mine's and get blown to smitherines :)

I would really like to see a map like this, evern better with bot's or something, i know there's alot of scripting and scripting is hard, but i really, really think this map would be a huge success 8-)

I have seen a map like this posted in here actually! It has a PVT Ryan bot 2 tanks that move and each take a shot. Which you have to destroy and the exact same music as in the movie. However the PVT Ryan bot seems to be buggy although im Not entirely sure if it has been fixed or not. If you don't load before the bot then the tanks don't move the music does not play and the bombs you use to destroy the tanks do not work oh well. Anyhow there is your answer to this map. I must say it is a neat map just the quazi buggy bot brings it down (unless that has been fixed) In that case it is quite enjoyable!

I knew it was soemthing like that, but in SPR it dosent show you how it's spelt

You think it would be a good map? i do

mixed gameplay i see...sniping, close combat

yeah and then you should force the player to zoom in on 1 nazi, and that nazi kills like all ur guys, then one guy with the J voicetype should be laying down shooting a tank with his colt45, and then BOOM BOOM BOOM the tank blows up it'll be just like the movie!


BTW- doesnt ANYBODY notice that the J voice actor sounds alot like tom hanks?

ive been working on a map of Ramelle since last october, and its almost exact to the film, but after it wasalmost finished, i noticed that some parts were wrong, and from where the tank shoots the belltower, you cant actually see the tower, so thats another thing thats not exact [a wespe type tank shoots the tower from behind the church, not the front like everyone else thinks]
atm, its gots a driveable tank, but im probably gonna take that out. if you quit the game while you're driving a tank, the server crashes. so i might put some AI driven tanks in, with small sumos help.
the obj is for the allies to defend ramelle. the axis have to cross the bridge, and hold the alamo side [the alamo isnt the whole side of the bridge, its the one house next to the bridge], for 10 seconds. but, once the axis team get near the bridge, the allies can fall back and blow up the bridge, but not before the axis get close. its also got the edith piaf song playing, and all the buildings from the film, both the side streets that you dont see at all in the film are also done. theres 3 p51s that fly over randomly, but i cant get the sounds to work, and the one that flies down the main road and does a barrel roll freezes the game, so ill probably leave them out too.

i havent worked on it for a few months now, but theres not much left i can do. im gonna fix a few final bugs, then compile it as beta. thatll be after i release The Mine final, and get my newest map, Italy1 done. then SS Manor final will be out after ramelle beta, then Italy1 final, then Ramelle Final, then Italy2. i think ill be done for mohaa then, ill be moving onto CoD


i downloaded the other ramelle map, but i got about 5 fps, so i couldnt play it [never over 20 with minimum settings]. after i saw that map on PMOH, i decided to try and get mine finished, before any other ramelle maps came out
