How much can you change?

Hi everyone

I know how to make maps now (I've downloaded & started using Radiant), but what I really want to know now is a simple answer to these questions below. I don't (at this piont) need to know HOW to do the following (although feel free if you want to explain), just CAN I do the following things:

1) Change the look of the clothes & faces of the soldiers to my own custom images?

2a) Change the look (and therefore I guess models) of the weopens?
2b) Change the sound of weapon fire to match new models?

3) (and now for the biggy) Is it possible to somehow change the games program so that when you kill an enemy, insted of seeing them fall down dead, they just instantly disapear and restart or something? (I have in mind making some kind of LazerQuest enviroment where dying doesnt need to be simulated)

Thank you to anyone who can help with these

To answer your questions:

1) You can change the clothes and faces of the players. It's called skinning. But for everyone to be able to see your new skin, they have to have it also on their computer.

2) You can change the look and sounds of the weapons. For a good example, D/L the map City Nights. You can download it here: http://www.mohct.com/. This will show you some cool ideas on how weapons can be changed, both the look and sound of them. Gen Cobra did a great job!

You can also change the look of grenades and lots of other stuff. There is so much you can change in the game it's incredible. You should do a search of the things you want to know about like skinning. There is a forum topic group named Skinning/Modelling I think.

3) This should be possible. Talk to JV or ROX or someone like that. They could give you a good answer on this one. If not, I'm sure there is someone that can answer this last question of your's. Hope this helps.

The more I think about it, the more I'm thinking it can't be done.

Thanks guys for answering.

About question 3), I haven't looked, but do you think this would just be part of the scripting, and all I would have to do is remove the comand to 'fall down'? This sounds to easy to be the solution to me though! :?

Thanks anyway.
