Another day, another stupid problem!

Ok, I just did something stupid on my map and accidentally deleted the patch of LOD terrain I had built. But remembering it had been ages since I had saved (another stupid thing!) I decided it would be quicker to rebuild the LOD than re-do all my work. Now my problem is this:
I can't seem to line up the edge of the terrain with the edges of the brushes around it. It INSISTS on moving by two WU's in Z every time. So I drag a couple of vertices and then make them all go to middle and it lines up fine, but then when I move the camera around to check it it snaps back up a WU. WTF?!
I lock all the outside vertices before deforming the terrain and I aint even deforming it that much. So what gives?
So my only options seem to be to have an unsightly 1 WU step, or to raise or lower all the ground around it by 1 WU. This will be a massive pain as all my houses, streets etc will need shifting too.
Oh, and I tried selecting the whole level except the terrain (as per Mansteins tip) but that too only seems to want to move by two WU's at a time.
Can anyone help me as it is really frustrating and my neighbours are gonna start complaining about the swearing coming from my window!

Doh!
Perhaps I'm spending too long trying to make this stupid map!
After writing this post and reading a few of the other problems on this forum I went back to the map, and straight away found the answer to my problem!
I hadn't snapped the vertices to the grid after the deformation.
Sorry. Anyway, if any other noob get's this problem, SNAP TO GRID!

Cant be said too few times: Stay on the grid!
