You would start by understanding how driveable tanks work. If you look in the new releases forum, you'll see someone has made a flyable hilicopter. The hard part is making the view form the cockpit, if you are using the plane models in the game.

good luck - it's a lot of work.

Can you make a script origin which makes the players view target it so it can see from the script origin?
what a mouthfull...

Yes, but it is called a func_camera. Here is a little tutorial map that has a camera. Go up into the tower and step on the wooden mark.

Remember all players on the server have to see through this camera :?

well, you could be cheap and use huddraw

but then, if a player leaves the cockpit, they still will see the cockpit on their screens :P

but then, cant you just use:

$player[local.i].viewangles = $lookthisway.angles

thats what i used for this one script where a player had to drive a fully loaded opel truck through a checkpoint.

Isnt it alright if the plane is just single player?
Because then you don't have to worry about all the players

buddy, i don't want to sound condensceding, pessimistic, or mean, but...

you're not going to be able to make flying planes :(

scopio_midget and jv_map: 2 uber-good scripters who have been at this for way longer than you have-these are the only 2 guys EVER! to make something fly in mohaa

why don't you fiddle around with the scripting language a bit, working on smaller projects, and then try something revolutionary :D

drivable tigers are easy, but the front of the turret blockz your view. panzers are OK. you might wanna see. its a simple matter of:

$tank attachdriverslot 0 $player

Yes but getting the view might be hard.

I've got a view above the tiger but it doesn't follow it nor change direction

how do you adjust the view? maybe i can figure out the rest.

I placed the func_camera on top of the tiger.
You can get the code in tltrudes tut.
Heres the script

Code: Select all

cuecamera $cam1

I think thats all i put in.
