hey where do i find light textures or objects to put on the roofs of my buildings? plz if someone can help that would be great!

Right click on the grid and select static-->lamp-->(any lamp in the list) for lamp objects. For textures, try entering "ceiling" or "roof" in the little text field besides the toolbar.

The lamps will not emit light, but you can add a light entity and a "corona" to them.
