Lo, I'm a player willing to learn mapping cuz all my clan mates are learning it and playing with maps they build etc so I thought lets give it a try !

I asked around for a tutorial and I found one

http://users.1st.net/kimberly/Tutorial/tut.htm

dunno if it is any good

anyways, I did the first bits, the fairly easy novice parts
make a basic room, put some textures on it, i was like: YES, I CAN MAKE A ROOM ! (/me really proud) something thats prolly the easiest thing around.
The next tutorial says how to make a player start (which is a spawn point I asume) I do what the tutorial says:
In the top view, right click anywhere in your room, a drop down menu will appear, select "info" "player" then "start". A red box will appear, that is where your guy will start when you play your map!
everything goes fine till I meet the 'A red box will appear' It just does not happen ! I) get this weird error from windows!

EVERY DAMN TIME THIS APPEARS!

what is wrong ?

I have Windows XP
AMD 800 timebird Duron
Matrox Millenium G450 Dualhead

and yes, I put the pk3 file in my main and my main was clean besides entdefs.pk3

pls help....

It is possible that you are lacking enough free memory to run Radiant.

You might want to update your video drivers, perhaps get some more memory, and even a new video card.

Make sure nothing else is running but Radiant when you are mapping.

I don;t read Dutch all that well, so I can't really say what is going on except that the first one is "MohRadiant has encountered a problem and needs to close" But I can't read the error report, so I can't say what is causing it for sure.

Hey Asgard. We are trying to "stick to the problem"
But your post poses another problem in itself: a lot of us here in the forum cannot read Dutch. So we can't know what the error report is stating.

But usually, when Radiant has to close like that, it is a memory/resources issue. Especially since all you are trying to do is insert a playerstart.

If you obtained your MoHAA and Radiant legally (which I am sure you did--I am not accusing anything here) then send the error report.
You could also go to MS Support, and ask a tech what the error code means. Then you will have a better idea of what to do to fix it.

The third screenshot is the error report that was generated, and includes all the system details of your setup. This information can help MS pinpoint the problem. Unless you know the internal codes, it really doesn't help you.

The dump details would seem to indicate a problem with drop-down menus. Try this:

1. Create a small box for your player start.

2. select the entity inspector from the menu.

3. scroll through the entity inspector until you find the player_start, then double click it.

It says you are using Windows NT 5.1 and that is not supported by EA Games:

Minimum Requirements:
Windows XP/Me/98/95 (Windows 2000 and Windows NT are NOTsupported)
