New ubersound work-around!

Woohoo no more messing with TIKIs 8-)

I found an easier way which seems to work on both client and server directly from the map script.

Here's how I did it (put this above level waittill prespawn):

Code: Select all

local.master = spawn ScriptMaster
local.master aliascache soundalias wavfile soundparms numbers channel loaded maps "mapname"
// local.master remove // edit: omit this line
You can add a great number of aliases this way :).

If there is a demand for it I can probably make a global script for it.

Nice work, thats much easier than having to place them in a tiki and having to pre-chache them.

Scriptmaster

What is a "ScriptMaster" and where can I read about them?
Does it work on dedicated servers?
Do we need all three lines for each aliascache?

Well a ScriptMaster is a pretty weird thing, that's all I know about it. You can read about it in g_allclasses.html :)

It does work on dedicated servers 8-)

You need only one line per aliascache, like this:

Code: Select all

local.master = spawn ScriptMaster

local.master aliascache soundalias1 wavfile1 soundparms numbers channel loaded maps "mapname"
local.master aliascache soundalias2 wavfile2 soundparms numbers channel loaded maps "mapname"
local.master aliascache soundalias3 wavfile3 soundparms numbers channel loaded maps "mapname"

Wow! Nice job JV. I seriously think you can avoid using the test_ prefix on SP maps with a simple global script like that.

Hmm you have to $include the animations in the TIKI file I think :( Can't cache them from script :?
