Hello all. We have announced the impending arrival of this map on other forums, but overlooked here!

Here are some screens of a new map that I have been working on with Vonderbakluft. It is several months in the making, and is first being released as a TM/DM map, with an OBJ version to follow, along with a full-fledged Single Player campaign soon after!

We have worked hard to ensure that everyone, regardless of system specs, can play and enjoy this map.

I want to thank Vonderbakluft for working with me on this. Throughout the course of the project, we learned a lot from each other. And because of this map, I feel I am a better mapper today!
I also want to thank my fiancee for her patience! I spent long hours in front of the keyboard instead of time I should have been spending with her!

But, I digress. Look for the map very soon. If all goes well, it should be released this upcoming weekend!

Here are the shots:

looks very promising! Some great design elements in there!

I'd agree with the italian feel from the pics, but i say the more varied the loacations the better! :D

No, the boat just floats there rocking with the canal current, being a, well...a boat...
We figured that driveable (or rowable, in this case) vehicles just do not suit a multiplayer map.
We wanted to keep FPS up so that you don't need a top-of-the-line system to play the map.

I have never played TombRaider 2. So any likeness is coincidental.
I hope it is not TOO much like an existing map in another game. That
would not be cool. :(

All of the errors have been fixed, save one, which I am going to fix in just a few minutes. We should still be releasing the map this weekend.

when i said driveable, i meant like it could just sway through the channel in laps, and maybe you can hitch a ride and do a drive-by or something. 8-)

So what happened to this map? The expected weekend has come and gone has it not! Heck an extra weekend has come as well. Not an attempt to rush anyone I just don't want this one going by the wayside as it looks quite interesting and beautiful. So Mapper any news about it?

Sorry about the lack of an update.
This is definately not another "aa hit and run"

Von and I have discussed the final compile options after about 25 different setups, and Von is compiling the final version tonight.(He has a better system than I) (Monday, Eastern time...)
He is packing it into a .pk3 along with all the other files, at which point he will send it to me so we can test the .pk3 to be sure all textures/models/sounds/loading screen/scripts are working properly.

I imagine that the final release will be within a few days.
It took us a litttle longer than expected to iron out the compile options....

It is then up to the site(s) to post it for download after we submit it.

I don;t even know if AA.com is posting new maps these days, but we will submit it to Mohfiles, and AA.us. (They usually post rather quickly.) and any other sites that you might suggest. I think TMT is still not accepting new files until the site is back up fully.

Again, sorry for the delay! But it is coming!

wow I usually use just mbuilder, but I guess out door maps need all those options to optimize fps and everyting

Most of the final options were for lighting. We tried a bunch of different setups and compared them in various game settings.

But we found one that we thought was the best for our map.

Very soon...very soon...
