how do i make an elevator without any scripting?

Search this forum m8. I know there is a topic somewhere with a link on making an elevator from a func door.
You have to make a brush on which to stand and another tall brush made from an invisible texture (like a clip or something) for how far up you want the platform to go and then select them both and give it a 'func door' by right clicking on the 2d map.
Then, with it still selected bring up your entities box by pressing 'n' and I think you have to give it this value:
angle
-1
Can't remember if there is anyhting else to do.
You could try that. But certainly, perform a search and you'll find perhaps more detailed instructions.

Who wrote that tutorial?
If you want motor sounds, try adding these key/values to the elevadoor:
Key: sound_open_start
Value: lighthouse_run
Key: sound_close_start
Value: lighthouse_run
That sound only lasts about 2.5 seconds, so it is best to set Key: time and Value: 2.5 as well. To make the platform even with the upper floor, you may need to add key "lip" (default is 8).

Doors2 tutorial map

My doors2 tutorial map now has a no-script elevator. It is in a manhole in the street. The zip includes the map file, so anyone can study the properties of it , or just copy it. The map has 31 doors, in all, and a normal scripted elevator in the house.
