This may as dumb as a post as they can get, but bear in mind, I'm pretty new to the mapping scene. Especially scripting.
Anyway, I was wondering if it is possible to make a day to night progression system in a multiplayer or single player map? The way I envisioned it, you'd have four different brushes, representing the sky in the morning, day, evening, and then night. As time goes on, the alpha on one brush would increase so that the next one would slowly become visible. It would also control the ambient lighting in the level. This would add a nice bit of realism and pazzazz to a map, if pulled off.
I doubt that I'd be able to even concieve of the things I need to do to make this, if it were possible, so I don't plan on doing to anytime soon. I'd just like to know if it were possible to do it.
