So Hello, and happy mapping. I am looking forward to seeing the work that this community can produce, and hopefully I can anwser any questions that you might have about the engine.

Hi, I saw your post at www.quake3world.com. I'm very happy that there's finally someone from EA at the community.

Just a question, not about the engine though, did you take part in the original MOHAA as well? Because I've never seen a 'Victor' on top of a script file, just a lot of 'Mackey was here' and such.

From what I know, if Vexar works for EA LA, then he had no input into the original MOH:AA. I hope that they (EA LA) will keep close ties with the community both before and after the release of the expansion pack.

Also from what I have read in some of the UK Gaming magazines, the success of the original MoH has prompted EA to start thinking of a series of games for the platform ala the Playstation series. (hence the hiring of new mappers)

This can only be good news for fans of MoH. I still would like to see a few member of the communtiy being approached as community liasons. These individuals would act as ago betweens between the community and the developers - allowing the developers to get on with the developing and still hopefully fostering a new understanding with the community

How do we know?

How do we know you are really working on Spearhead? Post some never before seen screenshots and we will beleave you. I do see you know how to make Q3 maps: http://www.planetquake.com/vexar/

If you work for EA, then post the winners of the level design contest--or at least the ones that didn't win!!!!

Hello ....vexar ...

Okay i have a few questions for you ... maybe you can shed some light and give the mappers/coders a little instght as regards to the changes in the SDK to be realesed with the new expansion pack Spearhead....

1) Will the editor be compatable with .map files created with Moh:Tools.?
2) Has the editor been upgraded
3) Have ea made more features accessable via plugins...?
4) Will EA be releasing the SDK seperately ?

These are just a few of the many questions that hopefully you may be ale to awnser....

thx ....

I doubt that he will answer some of those questions unless they make an official statement at EA.com. But well we can always hope!! Any information from you Vexar is welcome!

Sorry for the delay in coming back to this site.

Hello again!

I went through some of the posts tonight, and added some answers where I could.

I was a Level Designer on the Bond Agent Under Fire team for PS2 last year, and was hired on to MOH PC aka Spearhead team about 6 months ago to work on Single Player, and Multiplayer maps.

I did an interview on MTM last week, link below. This interview might answer some of your questions related to my history in the industry, what I did on Spearhead, etc.

1) Will the editor be compatible with .map files created with Moh:Tools.?
YES

2) Has the editor been upgraded
YES, slightly. Mostly to do with some lighting specific additions.

3) Have ea made more features accessible via plugins...?
NO.

4) Will EA be releasing the SDK separately ?
YES

I don't remember the contest winners by name or I would name some of them sorry. I do remember the sloppy level design work that we needed to correct before the levels could be included in Spearhead.

All the level designers contributed to fixing all the minor problems. I do remember Small Town, which was renamed to Versite (I believe), and Thunder renamed to Gewitter. Can't remember anymore at 1:30 am.

FYI: MP in Spearhead have a German names. That's why all the maps were renamed.

Yes when I was a Producer I created maps for Quake 3 in hopes of being hired by id software some day. I am very happy to be working for EA on Medal of Honor as a level designer, and Spearhead is just a taste of the future!

BTW the new site design is GREAT!!!!
