Shoot through iron stairs ?

Im making a set of iron stairs, similar to those in V2 Rocket map, but dont know how to make it so you can shoot through the holes in the metal? At the moment its just soid all over when you shoot, even though the texture has holes. Any help would be nice thanks

Yeah, listen to him m8 - he's the bomb! Hehe.
I've got a working gantry texture now that you can shoot through, if you want I can send it to you - save you messing around with shaders and all.

I dont know anything about shaders so i guess i'll need to learn that...what was the tutorial that you had to help you make this texture?

thanks for the texture, but im now having trouble with which texture to use for the rest of the brush...
i'm pretty certain its "no draw" but when i compile it the nodraw texture is yellow when you look at it from under the steps in-game, not sure how to fix this??? I'll keep on with trial and error, but any help would be good thanks, sorry im not so good at this yet
