Possibly Radiant crashed while saving :?. Try opening the .bak file.

Or maybe you turned on some filters 8-)

View/filters

If there are filters on you will see them listed at the very top of the editor. You can turn them off under the View menu.

If there are no filters on and you see an untextured box near the center of the map, don't delete it!!! It is all your missing stuff. Open your .map file with a text editor (like Wordpad) and try to find the bad text line that is messing up your map. That happened to me when I put quotes around a trigger message value.

Open radiant and select map info . If it says 521 brushes and you have 600 brushes make a copy of your .map file and open the copied .map file in a text editor and goto brush 520 ( the brushes are numbered 0 to 520 for 521 brushes for example ) that brush is your bad brush and all brushes after that one won't load . If you have Use quake3.map format checked uncheck it and try your copied .map some of the time if you set a surfaceparm and this is checked you can get your problem and haveing this checked will prevent you from makeing things detail . If it is not checked try to delete the bad brush in your copied .map file and load it into mohradiant if that works you know it was a bad brush . Use a copied .map for this don't play with your other .map file you don't want to delete and find out it didn't work for you and you can't go back .

Hey did you save it then open it? If you did I know exactly what is wrong. It is very simple it happened to me too. You save it, then when you go back to open it do NOT hit open then select your map. Hit load then select your map and it will load everything right. Open will make caulk textures look black and other parts will be missing and it will look like a mess so I think thats your problem.Post if it works Ok?

Hey guys,

I had the same trouble and the load vs open thing worked for me as well. Any ideas on why it is doing this and how to fix it? It is a pain to load the map this way as it takes like 5 times as long, lol. Thanks, Goat

Very interesting. In all my time mapping, I have never had this problem. I use "open" every time with no problems whatsoever.

Unfortunately, that doesn't explain why it works for me, and not others.

Yeah, Crunch. I have been mapping for like a year and a bit with MOH and have never had this problem. I just opened a map like always with the past history window (at bottom of the file tab) but this time for some reason parts were missing. I wonder if it is pk3 contamination from other files? What is also strange is that it seems to be mostly stuff that is Gensurf produced (but regular brushes also a bit). If I figure it out, I will post here. Any one else encounter this frustrating glitch?

Well, it took a fresh install of Radiant (don't forget about taking the Radiant key out of that registry or it won't work!!), but finally everything is showing up again. :D

How would you take radiant out totally and then reinstall it? I know how to install it but how would you "take the radiant key out" or something like that to make it work?
