I just have a suggestion to all your bored mappers out there. LISTEN TO MUSIC WHILE YOU MAP (MAKE SURE ITS LOAD)
I started two days ago on my newest map, while listening to Rammstein, Green Day, Red Hot Chilly Peppers, Puddle of Mud, and Kraftwerk. And I've gotten so far in my map, ideas are blowing up around every corner I map. I feel good, and in two days like my map is already huge, and its not done rushing either, Ive made sure everything is right before going to the next area of my map, the only thing I haven't fully decorating my rooms yet. but nehow my suggestion is too listen too music

IT WORKS.
Oh and is there way to have something triggered by only a certain team, like say the allies can only trigger blowing up a wall section or something?
thx..
PS, listen to music while mapping, make sure you have a variety of a few different bands so you dont get bored to the music too!

yeah do this:
Code: Select all
boom:
$trigger waittill trigger //hold up until its triggered by something
local.player = parm.other //returns the triggerer
if (local.player.dmteam != "allies") //if his team is NOT allies, then restart this thread.
{
thread boom
end
}
else //this means his team IS allies
{
//your code here
}
end

I agree totally with the music-while-mapping thing. I always listen to music. Almost all day no matter what I do.
I would suggest some John Hiatt, Joe Bonamassa, Sonny Landreth, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Little Feat, Mark Knopfler, and maybe some Indigenous.
They'll keep you going for sure!

It definitely helps, go for some dance, techno, or when it's late at nite, some chillout stuff, mmmmmm.

Hmmm... lets say we would have one... along with the other stuff on registration, you could upload ONE mp3 for the .MAP radio...
What song would you upload that would be a good "mapping song"?
I'll select.... Hurt ( By Nine Inch Nails ) in a cover version by Johnny Cash.

hehe seems like im not the only one,
as for a .map radio, play hard stuff no smooth music, u need something that wakes u up , something that makes u feel for more, Rammstein seems to work for me the best, I sometimes switch to lighter techno stuff when I need some different stuff, also some other things like green day and red hot chilly peppers...

Expand the horizons.....how about some George Clinton? If you like the Peppers, you gotta love him.....
As far as adrenaline rush, (If I have to mention "commercial" music)
Machinehead by BUSH is the way to go(great for driving). Or Van Halen's Diver/Down album.(great for working out)
You could always kick around a little 80's rock like Dokken's Breaking the Chains. Or maybe some Zebra. Or Tesla. Then there's also always The Alarm's Strength.
RAMMSTEIN's DuHast can get you going too.
Other than that, blues guitar is the music of choice for me.
.MAP radio would need an arsenal of music!
Kill Ya later!
BTW--this thread is better suited for General Discussion, no?

proably its turned out that way... I had those two things on my mind at the same time when posting this... my questiong on that allied trigger thing and this music thing
If a mod would be nice to move it... but if its not important enuf it can always be deleted..
Seeing that I m not like most I buy my music legitly so my horizons expand slowly...
