Post by BiG_HeaD »

I need to move a really big Church Up a little bit. Only problem is i cant find the spot on the height meter where to drag it. It only says under buffer-then 10-seconds lator it crashes? Any suggestions?

hmmmm

I just started on my map. Have Yet to use a prefab bigger than say clump of boxes. But......

Try ctrl tab and doing it in 2d view.

Or in 3d view.

I know its not as exact but that hieght meter can be a bit tricky.

happen's to me now and again, this what i do, make sure there is no other program running, turn on the cubic clip terrain, turn the camera away from the position your are loadin the prefab to, then load and then pray, don't try to rotate a big pre. that will crash it too, move it only up,down, left, right. then press esc.
it's not a time for thinking its a time for drinking!

and don't forget about the region tool . Draw a large brush around the area you want for work with in the top view and select region -> set tall brush and your map will dissapear exept the area under the brush edit the area then select region -> off to make your map reappear . Also if you draw a brush that surrounds your church and select inside to select all of your church and to move it up 8 lets say set a grid of 8 and use the + key and wait eventually it will move up 8 give it time .

If you want to move large prefabs, try selecting the prefab you want to move, and then switch on all the filters, this will allow the computer to concentrae purely on the prefab, and not worry about the rest of the map.

Then all you need to do is switch on some of the filters to get the position of your prefab right, and if its not right, switch them off again and move the prefab, then back on to check etc.
