Where you apply oil in the entity inspector (n) you can put water instead of oil. It says how in the middle box with all the options.

pipes

Post by tltrude »

You can make a pipe a func_barrel, but the liquid runs out too quickly--if the pipe is horizontal. The amount of liquid is set by how tall the barrel is. So, if your pipe is horizontal, it runs out very fast.

Both the water and oil barrels leak, but not forever.

what if you took your horizontal pipe, and added a vertical section to it, but the vertical section is hidden, so it looks like the horizontal pipe is leaking alot, because there is a hidden vertical section.

he says put a vertical section with in the pipe, but really ur just putting another horizantal one if u want the leak to work in all places. u might be able to make an animateed custom texture that always leaks, but i dunno how that would work.

Leaking entity

Post by tltrude »

You can make a custom script_model entity that leaks all the time. It would need a trigger to set it off and would only leak at one spot (per entity). One of the tiki files for leaking water is "fx/barrel_water_leak_big.tik". It uses "start" and "stop" commands for animation.

You can also do the same for steam, smoke, yellow gas, oil, fire, dust, etc..., etc....
