Is the bsp file in the main/maps/dm folder? You have to run the map in a team deathmatch server to use those spawn points.

its not good to rotate entities, you best set their angle... press n, and where you see in the bottom left all those numbers:

Code: Select all

135 | 90 | 45
180 | U|D | 360
225 | 270 | 315
click the one that you want the playerspawn to face.

sweet thx for that but i still need to know how to spawn in more than one place. spawning next to an enemy is never good.....

make sure its tdm, you have more than one person in the game...

you need an ally spawn and axis spawn and a player start... should work then

just place differnet spawn points. for example, place 16 allied spawns and 16 axis, and you randomly spawn at one.

i think so... you need more than one person playing with, otherwise you just spawn at the player start

Omnicient:

Let's make sure you know exactly what we are saying. For a DM/TDM map you need the following:

1. One (1) Info Player Start

Don't just place this entity any old place in the map. Place it (and point it) strategically at an interesting, characteristic part of the map. Try placing it so that the players joining the map first get a view of the marquis building or focal point of the map. ***Don't think of this as an actual spawn point that will be used in the game.***

2. One (1) or more Info Player Allied

These entities are commonly known as Allied spawn points. To play the map in Team Death Match (TDM) mode, you must have at *least* one of these entities. However, as a guideline, if you are designing your map to support, say, sixteen (16) total players, create at least sixteen (16) different Allied spawn points. Place these in various "safe" areas in or near the Allied spawn area of the map. Now, make sure that at least four (4) of these are somewhere *other* than right in the Allied spawn point so that, if the Axis "capture" or otherwise occupy the Allied spawn point during the game, the Allied players can still spawn in relative safety. The placement of spawn points is a critical factor in the overall gameplay of the map.

3. One (1) or more Info Player Axis

These entities are commonly known as Axis spawn points. To play the map in Team Death Match (TDM) mode, you must have at *least* one of these entities. Consider the same guidelines as with Allied spawn points. If you were playing on Axis, where would *you* like to spawn? If the Axis spawn point was overrun by Allies, where would it make sense for you to spawn?

4. One (1) or more Info Player Deathmatch

These entities are the team-inspecific spawn points that the game uses in Free-for-All ("Death Match" or "DM") mode. You must have an appropriate number of these entities to play the level in Free-for-All mode. If you are designing the map to support sixteen (16) players comfortably, then include at least thrity-two (32) of these points at relatively "safe" locations *throughout the map*. Don't group these together as you might with Allied or Axis spawn points. If you were playing the map in Free-for-All mode, where would *you* like to spawn if there are fifteen other players running around tryint to hunt you down?

5. One (1) Info Player Intermission

This entity is not required, but recommended to make your map more professional. This entity functions much like the Info Player Start entity, but it is used by the game when showing the scores at the end of the map. A good example of this is at the end of Stadt. Use the same basic guidelines that apply to placing the Info Player Start, but don't put them in the same area. You may want to position and point this entity toward another characteristic building or place in the level. Don't be afraid to put this entity in the "air", above the ground. Experiment with the placement of this entity until you like the perspective it gives on the map at the end of the level.

To summarize, if you are planning a multiplayer map for DM/TDM gameplay and for sixteen (16) total players, include the following in your level:

One (1) Info Player Start
Sixteen (16) Info Player Allied
Sixteen (16) Info Player Axis
One (1) Info Player Intermission

I hope this provides a more complete overview of integrating spawn points into your multiplayer MOHAA levels.
