you gotta bind mg42's to the wings, bind mg42 targets a little ahead of the mg42's, and its basically all script. like this:

Code: Select all

$mg42_left bind $plane
$mg42_right bind $plane
$mg42_left.target bind $plane
$mg42_right.target bind $plane
$mg42_left hide
$mg42_right hide
$mg42_left setaimtarget $mg42_left.target
$mg42_right setaimtarget $mg42_right.target

//do your flyby here
$plane followpath $plane_path1
$mg42_left startfiring
$mg42_right startfiring
$plane waitmove
$mg42_left stopfiring
$mg42_right stopfiring

Ok, I'm bringing back this thread because I tried the same thing and it's real glitchy. Everything works fine when the plane and gun are stationary, but when the plane is moving, the gun flips back and forth and fires in different directions. Can anyone help?

why not try bdbodgers global strafe script,,,the planes have the option to use working guns:)

actually the dafault is to have the guns on when plane is spawned and at a pitch of 30 degrees .

OK, i've pretty much given up with my own methods. The only problem I've had with using the global/strafe scrip is that it only puts two guns on the planes. I want my planes to be as realistic as possible, the p-47s for example need 8 guns, 4 on each wing to accurate. Is there any way I can modify the strafe scrip to do this?

Look at the plane_ini thread of the global/strafe.scr That is where the guns are attached . They are bound to script origins and targets are also bound to the same script origins directly ahead of the script origin and by rotateing the script origin that they are bound to the gunangle is set .
