Just put the script in the same folder as the *.bsp

e.g. for single player maps its main/maps

If that's not your problem have a look in the console for any errors and 'em here.

You don't really need a script for a fan because you can make it rotate in the entity properties. Doing it this way will make it rotate all the time--no on/off switch.

1. Open you map in the editor and highlight all the parts of your script_object fan.

2. Hit key N and type this in:

Key: rotateY
Value: 360

4. Hit key N again and save your map.

5. Recompile your map and place the BSP file in the maps/dm folder in main (if you want to test it with weapons and sound).

Hope that helps!

How do you regulate the speed?

The number used as the value is "degrees
per second" I think, but all you need to know is, the higher the number, the faster it will go. The center of rotation is (just like a door) at the center of the object or the object's origin brush, if one is used.

RotateY would be for a ceiling fan, but you can also use "rotateX" and "rotateZ".
