making pk3's

I've been having trouble making my pk3 for a very basic map I made. I read a tutorial about it on this site that wasn't very informative. I know how to make the file turn into a pk3 file but I'm not sure what files I need and where they go. Could someone tell me what files I need to put in the pk3 for my map and where they go.

I had trouble with min. Always came out as .lin etc....
Several brain farts later...........
I realized if i ran my bsp in mohaa main maps obj then exited mohaa and looked it would create a min.
Then i put all the pieces in the right folders zipped it and renamed. Tah dah my first crappy pk3 / map!
Oh yea read that basic pk3 creation tut. Even helps the idiots like me!
