Update your drivers.

I have been running XP pro for maybe more than a year. Ever since I have used it, it would never close down, I always had to use the switch on the box. Well I found out it was my soundcard drivers causing this. I got a sounblaster live 5.1.
Well I got all the drivers tonight, it shuts down now
I suffered for so long with that problem, also overall the machine seems MUCH MUCH faster, sounds unbelievable that the soundcard would cause this but I have noticed a massive improvement,
So go update your drivers
