Well I have decided to do this because I want to leave something finished behind for people to play. I stayed up late mostly because I have been sick and partly because I wanted to do this. I made a 4 map map pack with new load screens for these maps, re compiled them, fixed some minor and major glitches and made a totally new map DawnInvasion as well. If my eyes weren't so bloody red I would upload this and get it to you all. I need beta testers bad for the map pack.

NO WEAPONS OR MODS JUST MAPS

Iron_Tusk_Final

Well Im not sure what is goin on with this game. Ive logged thousands of hours and made a dozen maps. While people may play City Nights alot these wwII maps go unnoticed. I think the game is goin downhill. Waiting for breakthrough and Pacific Assault is too much of a wait. Call of Duty is cool but I think a lot more people are playing half life 2 now. The editor may be different but the engine is magnificent.

I mostly make this stuff so i can play it but recently I have wanted others to play it.

Hi Gen m8

I finally got round to playing your map pack

(I don't get much time these days - Life, Work, Clan Matches, My Own maps and models, BEER!!!!!)

As you allready know i really like the city nights maps aswell as Iron Tusk (Love that guy hanging out the car) I thought Stalingrad Snow was fantastic the steam coming off the breakable ice (Which I just had to destroy with the Rocket Launcher) was brilliant and i like the look of the map

But....

I didnt really like Dawn Invasion some of it was good but I did get the feeling it may have been rushed for example some textures looked out of scale and some things were floating in mid air

all in all a good map pack showing off your skillz

Talk to u on msn soon...

Gen, there will always be people playing this game, like me, I love city night mod and I'm always interested in looking for new single player mission map. It might seem that mohaa is going downhill (maybe lack of support from EA) but there is still a wide majority of people still playing. Also adding bots to one of your map is a good way to get your map notice, since there aren't a lot of maps with bots.

Worried about downloads and play? Couple answers:
1. Lots of maps coming out now. I think a lot of guys, including myself, are trying to get projects finished before the CoD tools hit.
2. Lots of maps coming out that are crap. They lag, they have horrible FPS, they are poorly done...bad texturing, bad scaling, bad design, just poor maps.
3. Server admins want GOOD, FAST, smart maps. There aren't many, see #2.
4. Releasing a new map every two days from the same author is not very enticing. That gives the impression of rushed, half-done, un-polished maps.
5. My opinion on good maps: TIME, lots of time. I do about 40+ hours mapping per week. Some weeks more or less. A good map to me should take 300 hours or more build time PLUS beta testing to death. Even a basic, limited-detail map should be 200+ hours.
6. Not naming names as there are several, but there are a lot of maps that come out in quick succession from the same maker, and it shows. Unfinished, un-realisticly lit maps with poor texturing, floaties, poor scale, & z-fighting instances are just not good. Better to take your time---even double the development time to be sure every corner is perfect, every texture aligned and smooth etc. It is noticed.

I know a lot of quality players and admins all over the world. These things I mentioned are foremost in their minds. A map can perform perfectly across the board, but if it looks like crap/garbage...it won't get picked up. It can look outstanding visually with NO brush problems at all, but if it lags out with over 12 players...it won't get picked up.

I've got a lag-out problem with two of my pending releases. They were finished in September, but they DON'T perform up to par and I haven't released them. I'm working my butt off with top guys in beta testing and other avenues to sort out the issues...related to TOW logic and such as the maps run high 90s FPS on most systems, but LAG kills.

Enough bitching...or atleast is feels like that's what I'm doing. I hate to see unfinished - half-assed maps be released. It looks bad but at the same time it makes well done, well performing maps look even better, and it's that quality that gets them noticed and played.

And, btw, Mohaa is dying...for now. CoD will dominate the market for several weeks...if it's as good as it looks to be, it will keep running away. There will always be die-hard Mohaa players and they'll keep wanting new maps...it's a matter of who stays to make them, and who moves on to CoD....I'm moving on and won't be back to Mohaa unless CoD is a mess.
