When you delete triangles, in a lod patch, it does delete them in radiant or you can not tell unitl your in the game if they are gone?

I think I am doing it right, but the triangles are still there in radiant.

Click LOD Terrain>Color surface flags

that way, they're discolored if you delete them. ingame they are gone.

LOD is crap and will gang bang your maps fps. Try and use patch meshes.

Not that I dont like a good gang bang every now and then, but I must say that you are wrong there Cobra. LOD will mess with your FPS if badly used... regular brushes will mess with your FPS when used badly as well.

But you are correct in so far as that it is really easy to mess up the FPS with a large LOD patch... messing up a map with brushes takes longer time ( and is harder to fix ).

Yes, I'm mister smarty-pants...

How do you delete triangles in the LOD patch ?

If I select a surface, swift click in 3d, then I get quite a large
section of the patch.

I would like to remove just a couple of triangles to allow access from under the LOD.

Under the LOD menu, select edit facet flags (or something like that). Then you can select individual triangles.
