Very nice!
It is refreshing to see some new skies--I really like the "swamp-gas/foggy /filtered light" look.
It actually reminds me of Tolkien.....
Do I hear Single Player level?
I am waiting anxiously for the HITP release.

Maybe you could make the bottom with riverbed[/u] and the water with canal_sludge

The water is a custom murky, yucky surface you can't see through that varies in color from golden to dark brown. There are layers of mist that move just above the water and at several levels higher up. Having water you can't see into allows me to make everything below the water line caulk. Saves lots of face count. Everything is triangle brushes and reduced complexity patch mesh. Full vis takes 4 minutes, but doesn't accomplish anything.

Looks great, we could learn from this, maybe you will put the map file in the final release for learning purposes.
Well done mate.

Hi sumo. Hey, you should know I always make all my map files available to anyone who wants them.

Eh what was I thinking.
Say um how do I make my boat look good, like its too big to build a world around and making an ocean around it, I am finding to be near impossible as well. Sillly me. I may have to put it in a ship yard kinda thing.

A shipyard or dock would be my choice. Maybe a loading crane and tower you can climb and run across to get on the ship.

Huh? Well I'm confused. I recall making some comments about texture formats in your forum and being pretty well told to butt out because this person (Liege, I think it was) was the team texture artist and skinner and he pretty well knew everything there was to know about textures and shaders.
Then I saw images of some of your prefabs and frankly they are awful. Yet your mod team has never gone looking for texture artists or static model/prefab creators. So, I figured you must be happy with what you have and just don't choose to show anything good.
Anyway, my texture, prefab and terrain library has been made available to another Vietnam mod. Sorry.

Small_sumo: How about making the sea surface out of patch mesh, and bend it downwards at he edges to create the illusion of never ending water... just an idea, but hard to do if you have VERY little space left at the end of the ship... maby try to rotate it 45 degrees to get more space at the front and back?
I used the bent patch mesh tecnique on the cloud layer in "Vemork approach" to give the illusion that the clouds just went on and on (combined with some fog).
