i have been reading about hint brushes and i wanted to try to use it to see the portals in my maps using radiant. i have the prt but i am not sure if i have the right plugin app, or if it is even in the right place.
the only thing that comes up in my plugins tab is refresh.
i have a folder that says max3 and max4 plugin.
thanks

Don't know exactly what you want to achieve but make a folder called plugins (or plugin, one of them will work.) and place you plugins there. The max3 and max4 folders are not for radiant but for 3d studio max.

okay. there was a page that i read about improving your vis. and about how to place hint brushes. it said once you have compiled your map you open up the .prt or portal file with a plugin within radiant and you can see where the portal are in your map. so you can place hint brushes more appropriately to speed up fps.
this was a page on quake 3 but it should still be available with mohaa radiant.

Ok, If you do find such a plugin, do let me know. In the meantime copy the prt file to you maps folder and try the console commands. showportal 1 or 2
This will show the portals. Though adding hintbrushes wont necessarily change anything. Even if one would think so.

yeah i just tested one and it didn't work. this tutorial was on Quake3 so i don't think it is the same. i am testing out the vis tutorial i read. man this s#*t is hard. i don't even think it will be worth the effort.

but worth the practice though.
i will give the showportal command out.
thanks
