Anyone know when the Half Life 2 demo is out. I've fished around the internet, but can't find anything. The game is out at the end of this month surely the demo should be out?

Valve never releases any demos. There where none for HL and there will be none for HL2.

Well I never! I didn't know that rOger, thanks

That's pretty sneeky by Valve. If they don't release a demo, no-one knows how the game will be (apart from watching the videos) and so the only way to find out is to buy it.

I would like a demo not so much to know if the game is good, but to know if the game will be playable on my computer with my graphics card and so on.
Would hate to buy a game and the have to buy a new computer as well. Though I might do it for HL, as it seams to be so f**king cool.

planethalflife (and others) believe that a release even in 2004 is possible...
does anyone already know a forum where we'll meet when the HL2 SDK finally is released?
I'm still unsure whether I will keep on mapping for MOHAA when HL2 is released...
The change from worldcraft to radiant was rather confusing in the beginning and I expect that fighting with both at the same time might be too much for an old man that I am... So I might have to quit mapping for MOHAA and try to find my way back into worldcraft.
How about u? Who is thinking, he/she can manage to map for both? Who will stay with moh and who will "switch sides"? Or will u wait for Doom3, where things we can do will look probably similar to HL2 (dynamic lighting...) but which is using a editor similar to the gtk radiant?

I hated Worldcraft. You can't manipulate brushes in 3D view. Fortunately, there was a version of Radiant that worked with HL. I'm going to give HL2 a try and if I don't like it, I'll switch to D3 when it comes out. D3 is another step up from HL2 though. Both in what it can do and in PC/graphics requirements.

I probably have suppressed all bad memories of Worldcraft and I must confess that I hardly manipulate things in the 3D view but LOD terrain...
Then, the GTK radiant wasn't much fun (even with MOHradiant experience) when I gave it a try for RTCW, and this will be the one to use for D3.
But, it's still unsure when HL2 is coming and then, when how long will it take until its SDK is available... D3's editor is integrated, even in that E3 demo. So, we'll see what's first and then start wasting our time with it.
