Noob Question: LoD Terrain- WAH!

Guys, I cant seem to figure out LoD Terrain. I know ur supposed to use some imaging program but that is just stuped. I cant figure out any of the tutorials. WHat is the esiest way to get a small hill?

Here you'll find a video tut about LOD terrain. It describes making a waterfall, but you'll understand the the basic principles. It once gave my few brains the right kick, so it surely will help u too :wink:

hm, isn't using images a really hard way instead of just using vertices??

making terrain from an image is infinitely easier than moving vertices, it takes only a couple of minutes to make a beautiful piece of terrain if you load an image.

Id say the use of veritice manipulation or image depends on if you have to adjust the terrain to other entities or if you start with terrain and later put other stuff in it.

So: both are fine, its just different ways of working.
