Satellite tracking software

I'm a bit of a geek, I am really interested in astronomy, ufo's too, just reading the ufo investigators handbook, its explaining how to find IFO's ( Identified Flying Objects ) it had this link for software which shows the orbits of satellites, I guess some military stuff isnt shown but still an interesting little prog, grab it here

http://www.dransom.com/stsplus.html

My brother lives in the middle of the woods in Oregon, I stayed there for a while and we slept outside one night, we spotted a satellite, then as we watched we saw another two flying with it, they formed a perfect equilateral triangle, we both said WOW, I could tell it wasnt a solid object as you could see stars in the space between them. We thought that satellites didnt fly in formation but I did some research and found that they do indeed, even found the exact ones we saw, they were launched in 70's.

So a probable UFO turned out to be an IFO, I would love to see a real UFO, just thought I would tell you all a lil story :)

I'd love to see one to. FIELD TRIP!

However... I think their might be other life on planets, that I do believe.

Well I am 100% convinced that they must have visited us, seems unfeasible that we are alone in the universe.

The universe is around 20 billion yrs old, the earth only 4 billlion , our sun is a 2nd-3rd generation star, all the heavy elements that we, the planet and everything around us are made out of were cooked up in the previous stars that went supernova and scattered the atoms around.

Sooo, there has been time enough in the past for a planet to develop life and evolve to be an industrial society, given that in our galaxy alone there are something like 10 billion stars and I cant remember how many galaxies there are in the universe, a crazy number, so it seems arrogant to think we are alone.

So I personally think that they have either been here or sent probes to check us out, even we ourselves are now able to look for the indicators of life on other planets :)

Well thats just my thoughts, I have real arguments with my Dad about it, he and my lil brother think I am nuts :)

Comparing the age of our univers to the time humans are running around cheating and killng themselves (haven't done much more, all the time...) makes the chance of having been visited by anyone from another planet even smaller. Stars die, planets with them, anything on them too, it's not unlikely that - although other civilisations were, are, will be somewhere else - they just exist in another period of time.
Then, comparing the size of the univers with our earth and thinking of that huge number of planets (even if you took just those which can produce any life), it seems rather difficult for them to find us...

I don't say it didn't happen, I just think it to be very unlikely. And if they did, one question remains: "WHY??" Why should anyone travel so enormous distances to visit US (I mean me and u, not the United States)? Hard to imagine...
But: I've seen a UFO! Well, atleast in MOHAA...

Unfortunately without little green men

Fair comments Wacko.

We live with ever increasing technolgy. The huge distances between stars seem for now insurmountable, but look at the huge leaps we have made in the last 150 years. Man would never fly, rocks couldnt fall from the sky. We now spend millions, even billions on sending our own probes around our own solar system.

Why do we bother, why would we want to seek out other life ?

We only have our earthly experience to go on but we have to assume that biology and evolution obey the same rules throughout the universe, as we automatically assume that the laws of physics hold true in other areas of the universe.

A top predator like ourselves always seek more and more resources, as we have become so successful that there are no other predators that slow our population. It seems reasonable that in the future ( if we dont blow ourselves up, get hit by a comet, suffer massive climatic swings ) that we will actually migrate into the solar system unless we can find a perfect non polluting way of life here.

There are so many factual, credible accounts by qualified observers that its certain in my eyes they are here and have been here a long long time.

I personally think they are sinister, theres a book called Communion, read it on your own in bed :)

There should be more life out there instead of Earth. It makes us look selfish or people look selfish when they say that only life can exist on Earth. Well.. that's my two cents :D

This is how i see UFO/Other life:

I would think it would be naive to think the rest of the universe is empty, i mean firstly it's so huge! It seems unlikely that Earth is the only planet that has life on it. Many people say that there aren't many planets like or own so life would be hard to find, but we forget that we are looking for other life forms not more humans and they might find Earth totally uninhabitable. They might like no atmosphere and temperatures at a cool 90000 degrees!

Life might be closer than we think too.... One of Jupiter's moons is covered in ice and is thought to have a warm/chilly sea below that ice. It's possible that the sea could contain bacteria and maybe even fish or something?

That's another thing, when people talk about other life they seem to always assume it will be big or like us. It could well be just a single cell somewhere on a rock!

I also think that life forms on other planets are possible, but I can't believe that "they" came or come to Earth in little flying saucers. If we had contact at all, then rather by telepathic means, which is called "Channeling", though this is probably even harder to imagine. But, atleast contact with a single cell somewhere on a rock as Zip says would surely be easier by telepathy :P

Those UFOs which were seen all over the world, are imho rather IFOs for certain organisations, as e.g. the Germans are said by some to have had "flying saucers" in the times of WW2. U can take a look at http://www.naziufos.com/... Anything of the stuff you can find about the "NAZI ufos", Schriever's "Flugkreisel" and so on, sounds rather strange and phantastic but atleast more likely than ufos coming from outerspace...

I do believe there is life outside of Earth, but I don't think any of those "UFO" sightings are real, a logical explaintion like a military craft or satellites. Some "UFO" pictures were a picture of a B-2 edited slightly and put in a sky background. I also saw a video of a "UFO" over Area 51 but didn't look like more than a video of a light against a black screen zooming in and out. Besides if other life were visiting us they would have landed by now and said hi.

I believe we are someones "experiment" or "intelegent" toys.

I think this
We are someones science project. Someon created us to see how well they can make things. And just left us here to tend for ourselves while the "being" above watches us.

like a SIM-Earth:
Hopefully that 'being' does not think, that those SIMs behave too buggy, let's swich'em off...
or he calls his friend for a little DM

Anyhow, whether anything above is true or not, we'll have to try our best in our lives (and make good maps  )

I did read a theory quite a few yrs ago, basically it said if you had a computer that could handle it you could program everything we take as reality into it and the result would be indistinguishable to the reality we observe ourselves, very much like the matrix, the matrix guy probably read the same book as me. One thing that sent a little shiver down me was that if this were so it would be just a big version of SimCity. I took delight in causing earthquakes, ufo attacks and Godzilla, all these have been reported in reality, so who knows, maybe it is that way.

I wonder why so many people find it hard to believe that the others could have made it to Earth. The time spans involved are too big to even imagine, and given a long enough span of time anything is possible.

I have a short video taken on board the space shuttle maybe some of you have seen it before, well the ufo was said by nasa to be an ice crystal, now this ice crystal changes direction and accelerates away, a split second later theres a flash in the atmosphere and to me it looks like someone was trying to shoot at this ice crystal with a missile or some kind of particle beam, maybe it was the HAARP in Alaska that takes the shot.

Here's the vid www.project313.co.uk/images/UFO_shuttle.MPG

My friend just sent me this link, HMMMMM, VEEEERY INTERESTING.

Read the front page, should whet your appetite if you like a mystery.
Its about a supposed time traveller ( he was posting in forums or a chat room it would seem ), would be cool if it was true also a little scary. I have read plenty of time travel stories its an interesting subject.

Take a look, its worth a read if your bored :)

Twilight Zone ?

EDIT: I have read a couple of the pages so far, really this is very interesting
