Comments and thoughts about HiTP Release

Alrighty kids the time has come. I just wanted to say ... WOW ...
Tons of goodies were thrown into it. Me and a few teammates were tooling around with all of it trying to decide what will make it onto our server and what wont. New maps of course will make it but im trying to convince everyone the joys of playin Conquest style game play. I dont think it will take that much pushing since it did appear like everyone was having a blast. It opened up the run and gun a bit for a bunch of old tactical nuts like myself. The mortar was fun as hell to play around with, it appears im gonna need to make future projects with larger sky boxes though

Prone to replace crouch was also awesome. Skins were plentiful although i gotta ask did i really see one called Jet Li and another Jackie Chan? and arent they both Chinese? Other than that it was a blast. The funny part was definately the 1.1 patch. I mean it took less than a day before it was fixed and released. Now that is support.
Once again i am in awe of the accomplishments by the HiTP team and want to say thanks. Now take a break and enjoy.

The models and skins are truly amazing. I also like the sounds. But the maps could be more detailed and better though...sorry

I think you are lookin at it from a different place than i am. Look at the tools developed by these guys for us to use. New weapons, new gameplay mode and I cant believe i forgot to mention the models and textures that were involved here but they were awesome too. And best of all its free mwuahhahahahahaha.
But i guess what you are saying is that we will be seeing something better from the OMG team?
he he i probably shouldnt of said that im my outloud voice..

It's always stupid to say that you're the best. You'll have to find out yourself if you like OMG more than HitP...that's up 2 you...in a while there will be a demo first so...

Thanks for the feedback guys. This mod will never be what it was due to team members dropping like flies when CoD demo came out. Thats why we risked just releaseing what we could and then planning other releases to come.
All feedback is important because we plan on those for future releases and patches.
BTW that patch came out 5 mins after release...lol
Im considering the mod a success so far based off of this e-mail:
I'll start uploading this to FilePlanet tonight, so we can get a mirror set up for ya'
By the way, when I was out at EALA - the folks there were pretty impressed with the mod - and they hadn't even played it yet.
Again, awesome job!

I played it earlier today.
I liked it a lot, a lot of work had gone into it. Very nice indeed.
I will mention it here while I remember cos it always slips my minds.
Random, I had a run around in Watten the other night, very nice, I liked the V2 model on the desk, cool

Well... when I first got this, I took a look at the beloved Japanese skins.

Some were white! I don't mean to be racial, but when you come to see an asian you don't think his skin is that bright. The detail of the skins were amazing though! And I got a laugh from the Jet Li Jackie Chan thing.
Then I decided to jump into, Shurkai something... I loved the map! The ladders were nice, the tunnels were slick, all in all 10/10. But when I was trying the Japanese weapons, you didn't work on the reload animations which I can understand are a little hard, and the sounds... sounded faded especially the rifles.
Now I don't skin, make sounds, or model, so I don't wanna be, "These sounds suck! Make better ones!" because, hah - I can't make better ones. I respect what's been done, but maybe just a little more time would've made it better. But then of course with the rush of Pacific Assault coming out soon...
All the maps were great, I found a few errors on Killer Kind and Balr's maps, but it's all good, Great mod!

I have to agree with you on this one. weapons, skins, sounds... everything is sooo nice. but unfortunatly, like we seen on some other mods that i wont name here, maps leaves a bit to desire. i dont say they are ugly and that they suck, i just think construction and level of detail could have been a bit better. The thing is that being a mapper myself, i dont skin, i dont do models, i dont do sound... i only map. so i usually concentrate on evaluating maps themselves. its simply my opinion and it's worth what its worth.
but besides that, great job ppl!!!

Creating large open areas with lots of foliage limits what you can do and still maintain performance. I can make destroyed villages and other assorted town and village settings as well as anyone, but I won't. I try to bring something a different to the gamers. If it means I have to sacrifice some detail or finishing touches, oh well.
If anyone here would like to do an HITP or VietNam map and show their stuff, you've got about 50 meg of textures to play with.

Major, which Mod are you working on ?
As for the HITP, something new and different is all good. A big project and well executed. I understand the time constraints and am glad you guys actually got to release it.
So with all the new textures and models I would like to think that some more maps will be released for the mod. The pacific theatre gives so many good scenarios. Theres one battle that I would like to recreate, it was in Burma, it was called " The Admin Box " a search on google will probably turn up some info on it if any of you are interested.
So HITP, good job.

We are working on the Operation Market Garden mod. A mod with all the battles in Holland and Belgium; also known as the Battle of Arnhem. You can also see it in A Bridge Too Far.
For information and screenshots:
www.bdt-team.net (There will be a large update soon).
We are still looking for some scripters, weapon and vehicle skinners, and mappers.

Question; where do I find the M1 carabine?
Cause your site indicates that there is such a weapon, can't find it tough
