The official release of "Streets of Stalingrad-1" Hybrid TOW/TDM map is here. The map is a much enhanced, bug free version of the SoS1-TOW map from May which features: DYNAMIC SPAWNING linked to 'areas of control'. More access points to buildings, active AT guns, and more features await you! Pics are still here: /forum/viewtopic.php?t=3264&sid=e5b8149a6d7b66b7e65448d78411fced
Please visit:
www.after-hourz.com for a link to the file. The guys over at AHz are awesome and helped play test the life out of this map and several others I hope to bring to the community in the coming weeks. Maps like a NEW "Tractor Works 2.0" that is also a 'hybrid' map featuring the dynamic spawning and 'area' control features of "Gun Assualt" and "SoS1". A new, sprawling yet compellingly intense map "Streets of Stalingrad-2" with tons of cool features like those above plus dynamic artillery barrages and more tricks.
While you're over at AHz.com, check out their forums, and map packs which feature some of the best custom maps out there. IF you can find a slot on their servers you're sure to have a good, challenging time.

Yea guys, this map feels so realistic when you play with it. Slyk has got everything but plated the map in gold, to make it excellent. It even has a box in the sky to say who has possesion over what -.

Well, at the moment, SoS2 is in beta testing at AHz. Hope to have it 'final' within about two weeks. MUCH better map. I've got SoS3 about 75% complete, and SoS4 is about 20%. #3 is sequel to #2 moving the fight down to the river bank. #4 is a wintery mess of twisted rubble and mayhem where you will crawl around as much as run in the open. It sort of a 'last stand' type fight where the dynamic spawners will allow the Allies to encircle the Axis if they fight well together.
BUT, all of this depends on how fast the CoD tools are released. After seeing the movies and other info, I'm ready to jump ship completely, so my Mohaa editing days may be limited. But I'll pick up and recreate most of my Stalingrad stuff for CoD anyway as well as improving the conepts. But there will a learning curve there too.

i dont know if this problem is from my pc but i dloaded this map and found some wierd things,i dloaded the earlier version and still same thing
it seems like the textures of some of the buiding are screwed up .while some buildings have proper skin others have pure red or yellow and the sky also is messed up.ill try 2 send some screens of how horrible the map looks on my pc later (cause i have 2 go now)
my pc is a 2.4ghz, 256ddram ,64mb geforce 4 mmx 440.

Do you have BROKEN'S.H.I.T.'..... I mean BREAKTHROUGH on your machine??? IF so, this is your issue.... and there are rumors that another recent custom map (unsure of name) is also causing a LOT of texture problems for folks.

Sorry about the confusion. I just think SH is much better from the mapping point of view with so many more options. I know a lot of people don't like it, but they're missing out. I've got three more that should be out by the end of the month...I hope... as I'm moving to CoD as soon as the tools are out.

M&M Slyk did kinda point out it was spearhead in the first line it is a TOW/TDM map and TOW is a spearhead game type

Slyk, are you planning to make Gun Assault, SoS, and Tractor Works for COD?

I've had a lot of demand for a 'Gun Assault-like' map for CoD. I'm pretty sure that I will recreate it very close to the original, but I expect it to be MUCH better. We'll have to look at the toolset and how well MP handles custom maps. There's going to be a learning curve about how much stuff we can put in the maps...as far as wide open maps like 'GA'. I'm really excited about the possibilites.
As for the 'Stalingrad' series... My first map will probably be what was to be my 'SoS4' map: the Univermag/Red Square hybrid where the Axis would have to fend off an encirclement. Just ran out of time in MOHAA. I've got three working maps right now to release by the 29th. Two in the can and one closing in. I will most likely do a NEW Tractor Works map. I had a couple others started for 'Red October' and 'Barricades' factories for MOHAA, but no time. So, I'll still be conentrating on Eastern Front action, and doing four-five Stalingrad theme maps before going to other areas.... ALSO, have to wait and see what the dev. team did first so as not to preplan duplicating their maps.
