Terrain max poly question (I know it's 32k w/o vis :)

I have a map with terrain in a couple different places, the total could go over the 32k poly max (no vis), but I'm not sure. What exactly will happen if it goes past that? And is 32k the max number of polys in the terrain for the whole map period, or how many can be drawn at a time?

Also the terrain guide says you can change the max it in your console, but how do you make the change in your map? It would be pretty worthless if only ppl who tweaked this setting could play your map. Also how do you know your terrian poly count? I know, I know lots of questions. I appreicate it if anyone takes the time.

Also this is all assuming the map performs well, as I know the risk of the fps tanking. :wink:

I dont think there is a polygon limit. But there is a limit to the amount of STRUCTURAL polygons. Does that make sense?

So what does the 32k refer to? I guess this is a moot point, as I haven't had any problems thus far, it would just be nice to know, before about it before theres a problem. Thanks for your response!
