ok i still have the above problem, is it by any chance to do with my graphics card/drivers?
i dl a basic map with just 4 walls a roof and floor, with one light and one start point.
when i load it in mohaa it looks fine as it should, so i though i know ill try converting it too .bsp and see what happens, when i did this i got the fogging effect again and yet the other allready done map works, odd?
what am i doing wrong or could it be to do with me system?
specs -
athlon xp 2000
abit kd7 kt 400 mobo
512 mb 333 ddr
onboard sound
120 gig western digital special edition
radeon 9700 - is this the problem drivers -?

error message with radiant

Post by Atomic »

when i shut down radiant and run mohaa to tes me level then close mohaa and try running radiant again it wont run and gives me this error message -
wglmakecurrent failed
getlasterror() = 0 - 1282
an unrecoverable error has occured. would u like to edit preferences before exiting mohradiant?
yes/no

if i click n it quits, if i click y it brings up the preferences box?

the only way to get it running again is to restart my comp, run mohradiant and its ok again untill i test me level then it does the same again?

ps. im looking at those posts now jv_map :)

Make sure MoHAA has actually exited when you've tested your map. In some cases it looks like it's crashed but keeps running in the background.

That could explain the error.

ok thanx for the info, i ran mohaa and tested me map and then quit it using mohaa quit button, and again the error occured, i checked me processes etc and mohaa wasnt running.
but get this i ran mohaa and tested a map again, and instead of closing mohaa with the quit button i minimized mohaa to dektop and opened up the processes tab under control alt delete, and closed mohaa.exe that way, and voila!! radiant loaded without a restart, so mohaa obveously leaves something running if u shut it down through its own menu system!!!!
thanks for the help again.

ps still not sorted me fogging, i thought i had, i created a sky/terrain using the tutorials, and added a building with 3 crates in it and 3 barrels plus a door, compiled it last night and it worked great, went to change the door to metal surface using the entity window and moved a barrel and now after compiling my fogging is back, and if i use ur basic room tutorial i get fogging as well please help some more as i cant build a map if i cant sort this darned problem!!
and as i said thanks very much for all your help!!!!!!!!

Ok, sorry for late reply. You may send me a .map and a .bsp file of a map that looks foggy. I'll verify if it's anyhow related to your system or if there are corrupted brushes in the map.
