How can I make a quick key in radient? I want to have a ctrl+? function for lod verticies lock.

If you can find the appriopriate command you can simply add a line to radiant.ini

I dug through the ini file and discovered there is no section for the terrain menu even in there. However there are keystroke commands in the lod menu in Radient?

So I added this:

: lod terrain menu
Lock/UnlockVerticies=N+SHIFT

And certain other commands stopped working. I tried variations as well.

I am now left wondering if the lod has it's own seperate .ini.

don't think so: i did a search for 'shift' as content of all files in the radiant folder and there was nothing useful but radiant.ini

but maybe you're satisfied with selecting the vertices to be un-/locked and then 1st pressing 'Alt+O' and 2nd pressing 'U'?!

as u might see, this way u can access all commands (e.g. 'Alt+B', 'C', '#', 'Return' would make a #-sided cone brush)

Here is an editor for another Quake3 type game (startrek elete force2). Try downloading it and seeing if their radiant.ini lists the LOD vertices lock!

I am not crazy to think that this type of quick key would be helpfull am I? This button is on the tool bar why not a keystroke. This is driving me mad!

So I tried your alt+o then u method and it does work, but it is just about as cumbersom as just using the mouse. However thanks Wacko for the tip, I more than likely will endup using it, if I can't figure the ini. method.

maybe there's isn't one and maybe it'd be a bit of an overkill:
you could also try to find a freeware prog which would run in the background and which would 'translate' your Shift+n (though then Shift would be rather bad choosen) into that Alt+O,U
