texturing lod terrian

you guys know when you select lod terrian it selects a square. is there anyway to texture part of it or does it just texture the whole thing

You can select the whole thing or just one 512 X 512 patch. With just one or more patches selected, you can change the texture of them. But if you want to make roads, the best way is to use patch mesh--under the curve menu. it can be bent and placed over the terrain.

Think he means the triangles within each 512x512 square.

If thats what he means then i think the answear is no, atleast not that i know of.

That's right, you can't texture one triangle. But you can delete the little triangles (facets). Highligh a square and hit Shift F to bring up the facet editor. If you highlight some triangles and click delete and done, they will not be there in the game. You can see the deleted ones in the editor by clicking on "color facet flags" under lod terrain. They will be a yellow see-though color and they can be undeleted the same way.

BTW, that is how you would cut holes in the terrain for tunnels. But it can also be used to delete facets under buildings and roads to lower the face count.

you can texture each square seperatly but not each individual triangle
