do you mean you automatically do it or is it an option? You can place items by right clicking in the 2D view and go to item and then your item, or addon>playerweapon but if you mean force the player to pick it up, I don't know. You can also script the player to have a gun or item when he starts by
Code: Select all
main:
level waittill prespawn //only need this once
level waittill spawn //only need this once
$player item weapons/colt45.tik //gives you the colt 45
$player item weapons/bar.tik //gives you the bar
This gets you the bar and the colt 45, you can edit them and add more if you wish. To add an item add this line:
Code: Select all
$player item items/binoculars.tik //gives you the binoculars

Oh....and for some reason, when I start Radiant, i always get the set basepath/mapspath/autosave dialogue box and I know for sure that everything is right...
Basepath...c:\program files\ea games\mohaa\
Mapspath...c:\program files\ea games\mohaa\main\maps
Autosave...c:\program files\ea games\mohaa\main\maps
and the moddir is
moddir...main
Any idea what I might be doing wrong???

A player can pick up a weapon if he drops his current primary weapon (key H). Don't use the static weapons, use "playerweapons". You'll see that when you right click on the 2d window of the editor. Ammo is under items/ammo.
For the autosave problem, you can turn off autosave in edit/preferences. But, mine is set in project settings like this:
C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\MOHAA\maps\tltrude\
If I had it turned on, it would autosave in the "tltrude" folder I put in maps. But, i just save manually to that location.

open up Notepad and put the script in, save it as mymapname.scr with your .bsp where you have mymapname.bsp , makesure its the same as your map.
Note: the .scr may show up as a screensaver, thats ok
