3ds max, importing textures ?

Post by Jack Ruby »

Ok I really hope someone can wise me up cos its driving me crazy.

I open the material browser, then go to import bitmap, it imports but then wont let me apply it to anything, theres a button that says assign material but it wont become active, heres a screenie, the arrow is pointing at the assign button,

So what I need to know is what do I need to do to import and assign a texture to meshes and poly's ?

click on one of the spheres, right below you'll see something like "diffuse, specular" etc. click on the little square beside "diffuse" and a window will pop. select the sphere with the label "bitmap" and select ur texture. then select ur model and press assign.
Live to map, not map to live.
