FG42??????

Has anyone ever got the FG42 to work in radiant? I down loaded a couple of FG42's from moh files.com but these seem to be just for MP. Also the one that's quaked in radiant, you can bring it into radiant but it has no textures and when you look in the .pk files it seems like everythings there, like the shader and the .jpg. Why won't radiant at least put the texture on the model? When I quaked one of the FG42's from moh files.com, I got the same thing the model showed up in radiant but without any texture. and this perticular FG42 had a .tga instead of a .jpg like in SH. I'd like to have one for a SP map.

Never mind this post. I got it to work!!!!!!!!! Yippie!!!!!!!!! Power of a BAR with a scope!!!!! cool!!!!!

I got the FG42 working using a down loaded file. It works good. I even was able to get the ai to use this weapon. The reload animation is wrong but I think that is because there was never a fg42_reload.skc made for it, so a different reload animation is used.(but thats ok) Also there is no muzzle flash. When I look in the .tik file I see:

Now I was wondering what calls out "tag_barrel" Is that something that is called out in the .skd or .skc files? Is it like with ai when you call out one of their body parts like "Bip 01 L Hand" etc. Because in the console the error message says something like muzzle flash failed can't find tag_barrel. I guess I'm asking what points to tag_barrel? Is it something you can fix or is it something in the files you can't change or would you have to remodel it . Like when you guys make a model from scratch in milkshape or what ever do you make a map of the weapon and give different parts names like tag_barrel, tag_eject etc, and then convert this into a .skc or .skd ? What I' really asking is am I wasting my time trying to make this weapon have a muzzle flash with out getting ito the modeling part of this ? Another words is this something that can't be fixed without reading or changing the .skc or .skd files?
Even without these minor details the FG still rocks!!!

tag_barrel and tag_eject are both bones, if they arent contained in the skd, then the effect cant be attached to the end of the gun.

So my turret model will have no shooting light from the end of the barrel?

Hey Krane, I brought the FG42 into LightRay 3d modeling program and gave it the bones "tag_barrel" and "tag_eject" And created a new .skc and .skd for it. It now has muzzel flash and shell eject. If you want the files I made you can have them. Just tell me where to send them.

Having your FG42 in my new map will make me feel a little better, but I didn't know that muzzle were bones...And I don't have lr3d ($86), I have Milkshape ($20). I know it sucks, but it's cheap.
