Uston I have a porblem :( something very wrong with my (hardly 3 months old :o) vid card:

:?

Actually I think the card is overheating since the heatsink is lazy (any kind of real fan would spin, not just sit there :x)... oh well I'd better let it cool down now.

No real point in this post - just sharing my frustrations :|

why don't you just buy a new fan?

I mean the fan on the card itself, not the main fan or cpu fan  these are rotating happily :)

Is this only in moha or any game? How is your computer handeling 'normal' graphic, like windows applications and such (2d, 3d apps)?
Do you get the same problem? Also have changed any settings on your gfx card (played around with the gfx card software)...
just trying to help ya :)

I appreciate that  but this happens when playing any game or other opengl app, even under linux :( Otherwise (i.e. desktop and normal apps) it's fine though :)

It always happens after a while - first few minutes it's ok and then it goes completely screwy (it flashes very rapidly so it's even worse than on the screenshot  )

That's a pretty good one isn't it? It could be defective, is there any warranty of any sorts?

*I noticed this was the 3000th post here in the off topic board

Overclocked

Looks like it is overclocked to me. If it is only 3 months old the company that made it will send you a new fan. The fan on my "Xtacy" Gforce3 Ti500 card was making noise, so I email them and asked If I could buy a new fan--added my address. They sent me a new one (with instructions on how to install it) for free without even asking how old my card was. :)

Another reason why not to waste your time with ATI products :(

Cool Atari version though :)

I have found that hardware manufacturers are often very accomodating if you contact them.

I had a broken monitor that was a couple years old, it was taking up space so gave it to my friend, he called the people, think it was Belinea or something ( cheap monitor ) they shipped a new one to him no questions asked, took a couple of days. Since then the montior broke a couple more times and they always send him a new one. I wish now I had kept it and called them myself and saved myself from buying a new one.

Indeed the monitor I bought to replace that one I gave away went blurry after a yr I guess, again the manufacturer shipped me a new one ( I think reconditioned ) with no hassle at all.

Email ATI jv, I bet they fix you up with no trouble at all.

I read somewhere that the newest ATI drivers are causing overheating problems!!!!! So, you might want to install the old drivers until they work it out.
