CALL OF DUTY! RELEASE ON WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 29, 2003
I don't know about the rest of you, but I've been anticipating this day since I first played the Call of Duty demo (as well as a pant-wetting experience from their great looking website).
So, what do you think, is this going to be the game that drops MOHAA customers?

Re: CALL OF DUTY! RELEASE ON WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 29, 2003
It?s hard to say the impact it will have on the gaming community. Keep in mind that not everyone has the pc specs to play these newer game titles. Even though CoD is not as intense on system resources as other titles that are planed to be released it does require more than what we have seen in the Moh titles. One of the greatest things going for the title is the fact that it had former 2015 members in the dev team. We all know the success of Mohaa and the fall of SH and BT. We will simply have to sit back and see how this develops.Havoc_covaH wrote:I don't know about the rest of you, but I've been anticipating this day since I first played the Call of Duty demo (as well as a pant-wetting experience from their great looking website).

As far as the modding community I think this is were we will start to see the biggest blow to moh. Modders have stuck with mohaa due to how well it runs and have been sick and tired of the way SH and BT ruined moh. Now that we are, in a sense, going back to the "good old days" of 2015 involvement that has sparked excitement. We also know that IW has been very receptive to our requests. Scorpio has requested several "improvements" in the scripting department and we will have to see if they follow through with what they have told us.
We all know that after the SP missions and MP levels get old the modding community keeps the game alive. If this game turns out mod friendly then it could really impact moh.
There is hope though for moh fans. I have had several e-mail correspondences with Matt Powers Sr. Producer at EALA in connection with the HitP mod. Even though we were not able to get another patch for Mohaa the modding requests will be implemented in the upcoming BT patch. They are now listening to the community but its little late for the older moh titles. Let?s hope that they continue this new relationship for Moh:PA.

I downloaded the new demo today, 160mb and it was corrupted
I will try again tomorrow, I did play the original demo but my monitor was messed up and I couldnt adjust the brightness so all I saw were muzzle flashes. However I have seen some screenies and it looks great.
General Death, its really gonna eat more system resources than mohaa ? I think I read somewhere that its still the Quake 3 engine, I assumed it would be similar to mohaa.
I for one cant wait, I am really into the WW2 theme, thats what amused me about mohaa as I was really into TFC before this game came along ( I still miss giving poisining my enemies and nade jumping to stupid heights with the medic, and how cool to sneak in as a spy
)
Come to think of it a spy on mohaa would be very cool, would get everyone on edge, it happened in the battle of the bulge, the germans did dress as americans and try to redirect traffic.

Philip II of Macedon sent a message to Sparta:
"If I win this war, you will be slaves forever."
The Spartan ephors sent back a one word reply: "If".

Yes, I still see it as similar but with increased shader FX and texture detail it will require "more" resources....much like high end custom Moh maps.[Spec Ops] Jack Ruby wrote:I downloaded the new demo today, 160mb and it was corrupted

I got CoD, played it... Somehow I wasn't as enthusiastic as I planned I would be. Seems like everything is RTCW: ET.
Nevertheless, doesn't do too bad, even on a GeForce2. SH kills me on GeForce2. The best part is that Infinity Ward isn't only releasing a game, it's starting a series of games based on war, and from what I've seen, things are going to look pretty fantastic.
Btw, just about all of the pictures that were released on their website and other crazy CoD fansites were put in the installation slideshow... Kind of makes it boring if you were really mesmorizing on that stuff, but oh well.
