Storm Warning: Solar Storm

Look out for the solar storm today, supposed to be 100 times bigger than the last! Satellites and cell phones could be going haywire!

Very interesting, I wonder if the US power grid will fail again, it did before during a solar storm.
I am gonna make myself a tin foil hat so my brain doesn't get fried ( well anymore than it already is).

Hah, wouldn't doubt there's going to power problems. Several years ago in 95 or so, I think in California there was all kinds of problems with power during a solar storm. I'll be save my work every couple minutes just in case.

i'd say it'd put on some light show at the north pole!!(or is it somerwhere else?

I read earlier that it might even show an aurora as far south as texas and florida, I live in England so maybe will get a show here tonight

There's always the aroura up north, but like jack said above I think it is supposed to bring it southwards.
Heh, we had power problems today, don't know if it was related to the storm or not.

yes actually that is possible. I think it was the Galeilo space probe that just finished its mission to Juptier, that solar sailed. It had some kind of parachute thing that caught the solar wind and took it to juptier!

I just went outside to take a look at the sky, maybe my only chance to see the aurora and its cloudy and raining

i thought tin hats were so the aliens couldnt read your minds? Have i been walking around with tin lined hats for no reason?! lol, J/k
