I know the topic has been done to death, but a search did not yield the results I wwas looking for.
I have downloaded a plain glass texture and shader from another thread. I can't remember who made it but it is called glas (German for glass).
All I need to have happen is for the glass to simply dissapear when shot. I don't need a broken image.l I take it is a part of the shader file and I will look at the originals. I guess all I have to do is find the breakable boards and copy the proper shader text??????

Well after a little more exploration I found the answer (I think?) to my question.
I use the func_window right? Or I guess the func_crate? Not exactly sure.
So now if that works, what values should I be giving the windows? I really want to have the windows blow out instantly, but I want the fraim to withstand all but a nad strenght explosion.
This leaves me with the following ideas
1: Make each window pane into a func_window with low health.
2: Make the frames into funct_crate with a high health.
If this is correct what values should I use for each? It would seem that the standard 250 for the windows should be left alone, as in stock maps. However the window frame values ae less clear to me. I want them strong, as they are windows For the White House.

After all fo that I think I will just change my surfaceparm to metal and have bullet proof glass. There are so many windows that it may be a snipers map if I make them permiable.
Thinking out loud is getting me nowhere.
What do you guys think? Should the White House feature bullet proof glass?

Sad part was that I pretty much was talking to myself. I am one of those "learn out loud" kind of people. However I did get through my problem.

Your not the only one that thinks out loud.
My neighbours must think I am mad, random shouting and swearing at all times of day, computers get me like that

The gray box in the entity window (key N) lists the keys and values (properties) that can be added.

Just to remind you that when you change the shader surface parm, you change the bulletmarks too. Pay attention to your bulletproof glass: the bullet marks are metal....too bad.
