Yeah, I'm building a 2 person map for me and a buddy and i would like to add my own custom comments, is that possible?
Uknow , V,5,5 = Hey Buddy get down!
Can I find where that comment is and make my own wav, name it the same name as "hey buddy get down" file and delete the original?
Then when I hit V,5,5 It will play my wav???

I don't think any file from pak4.pk3 is used at all. The sounds are simply stored in main/sound/dialogue/multiplayer/a_or_g/
This means you cannot overwrite an original sound with a pk3 file (extracted files have priority over files in a pk3). It may however be possible to change the sound alias using my new ubersound work-around method (do a search

).

Hey Tom can U explaine, Sure thats where they R.
Have U ever done that? Can U change the text that appears along with the audio? renaming the files?
I don't want to spend alot of time on it if its not possible.
But I do think that would really be cool.

Well, I would never attempt it, but it can be done. Copy the (main/sound/dialogue/multiplayer/a) folder and place it on your desktop. Find the file named "AMdfr_m_15a.WAV" and rename it "XAMdfr_m_15a.WAV". Then add your replacement wav file and name it "AMdfr_m_15a.WAV".
To get it working in the game, you will have to deactivate folder "a" in sound/dialogue/multiplayer. You can do that by renameing it "Xa". Now you can place your modified "a" folder in there, or make a pk3 for it that is named something like "User-mymodname.pk3".
Anyone you send it to will also have to deactivate their "a" folder.
Note, the sound that plays depends on which skin you use in the game. So, you would have to change all the "Buddy get down!" wav files for it to work on all skins. There are 247 sound files in the "a" folder alone.
So, good luck with that!!!

You should be able to change the text by editing the globalization.txt file. May take a while to find the right stuff though.

Well I did it and it works great.
I just found the allied Manon files and wrote down 10 of the file names and deleted them.
Downloaded 10 funny as hell wav files and renamed them original file names. And put them back in the folder.
Wav's like Elmer Fudd " Thats all folks", Arnold "I'll be back", Krusty doing his laugh, Homer "D'oh,, etc.
Sent them to my bud and he did the same thing, We laughed or ass's off.
When I finish my map could I bundle my own wavs comments in my pk3.
